The name Y Anglican stands for Young Anglican. It is also a play on Generation Y and the question ‘why Anglican?’. The network is open to everyone who respects the principles of participation. It is aimed particularly at people between 18-40 years who are active in the Anglican Church.
The network aims to promote outstanding initiatives that have the potential to inspire action in other parts of the church. There is a focus on fresh expressions of mission and ministry, activities which project a positive image of Anglican Church in the wider community and activities which help to achieve or raise awareness of the Millennium Development Goals. Special attention is given to initiatives led by Anglicans under 40.
Y Anglican is about celebrating our current achievements and inspiring activity by connecting young leaders who are passionate about expressing their faith in practical ways. Y Anglican is intended for the young dreamer who feels alone in their parish, to remind them that God is working through young dreamers all over Australia and the world.
Participation in the network is open to everyone subject to the Principles of Participation.
